Concession Food Runner

Position Summary The Concession Food Runner acts as the vital link between the kitchen and our guests. In this high-energy role, you are responsible for the “final mile” of service—ensuring that orders are accurately assembled, packaged, and delivered to the guest while the food is at its peak quality. You are the pace-setter for the concession stand, maintaining a smooth flow of communication to ensure that even during the most intense event “rushes,” every fan receives exactly what they ordered without delay.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Order Fulfillment: Monitor the kitchen output and match prepared items to guest receipts or digital order screens with 100% accuracy.

  • Quality Assurance: Inspect every plate or package for presentation and temperature before it leaves the window; ensure all necessary condiments and utensils are included.

  • Expediting: Communicate clearly with the Kitchen Staff regarding pending orders and “sold out” items to manage guest expectations and kitchen workflow.

  • Station Support: Assist Cashiers by fetching drinks, snacks, or pre-packaged items to expedite the checkout process during intermissions.

  • Sanitation: Maintain a clean and organized pickup counter; wipe down surfaces and assist with restocking napkins, trays, and liners between rushes.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Certification: Valid Food Handlers License required.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a fast-casual restaurant, concession stand, or high-volume hospitality environment is a plus.

  • Communication: Ability to shout orders clearly and listen effectively in a loud, crowded environment.

  • Speed & Coordination: Exceptional ability to move quickly and maintain focus while managing multiple orders simultaneously.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Schedule: Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays according to the arena event calendar.

  • Environment: Fast-paced, high-pressure environment; constant exposure to kitchen heat and loud arena noise.

  • Physical: Requires constant movement, standing for 6–8 hours, and the ability to carry trays or bins weighing up to 25 lbs.
