Bar Back

Position Summary The Bar Back is the engine of the arena’s beverage service, providing the essential support needed to keep our bars running at peak efficiency. In this fast-paced role, you are responsible for maintaining stock, cleanliness, and organization behind the scenes. While the Bartenders focus on the guests, you focus on the infrastructure, ensuring that no station runs out of the supplies necessary to serve our high-energy crowds.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Stock & Inventory: Constantly monitor and replenish ice, glassware, garnishes, and bottled beverages; replace beer kegs quickly during high-volume periods.

  • Station Support: Proactively clear empty bottles and trash from bar counters and guest areas to maintain a professional appearance.

  • Sanitation & Maintenance: Wash and sanitize glassware and bar tools; ensure floor drains are clear and spills are mopped immediately to prevent safety hazards.

  • Heavy Lifting: Transport heavy cases of liquor, beer, and soda from the storage warehouse to various bar locations throughout the arena.

  • Efficiency Coordination: Assist Bartenders with basic tasks as needed to reduce guest wait times during peak “rushes.”

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, or high-volume event venue is preferred but not required; we will train the right candidate.

  • Physical Capability: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (kegs/cases) and navigate crowded spaces quickly.

  • Attitude: A “can-do,” proactive mindset—you must be able to see what needs to be done before you are asked.

  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and the ability to work late-night shifts following event conclusions.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Schedule: Must be available for evenings, weekends, and holidays according to the arena’s event schedule.

  • Environment: Extremely fast-paced, often involving wet surfaces and loud noise levels.

  • Physical: Requires constant movement, bending, reaching, and standing for the duration of a shift (6–8 hours).
